INVOCATIONS
-
لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
la ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minaz-dhalimin
There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.
(Surah Al-Anbiya Verse 87)
-
رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
Rabbir hamhumaa kamaa rabbayaanee sagheera
My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small.
(Surah Al-Isra Verse 24)
-
وَقُلْ رَّبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَاَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرّٰحِمِيْنَ
Wa qur Rabbigh fir warham wa Anta khairur raahimeen
And, [O Muhammad], say, "My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of the merciful."
(Surah Al-Muʾminūn Verse 118)
-
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا
Rabbana atina minlladunka rahmatan wahayyi lana min amrinarashada
“Our Lord! Grant us mercy from Yourself and guide us rightly through our ordeal.”
(Surah Al-Kahf Verse 10)

رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَذا بَاطِلاً سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Rabbana ma khalaqta haza bathilan subhanaka faqina azaban-Naar
Our Lord! You have not created this in vain. Glory to You! Save us, then, from the chastisement of the Fire.
(Surah Ali'Imran Verse 191)
-
رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ مَن تُدْخِلِ النَّارَ فَقَدْ أَخْزَيْتَهُ ۖ وَمَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ مِنْ أَنصَارٍ
Rabbana innaka man tudkhilinnara faqad akhzaytahu wama liddhaalimeena min ansar
Our Lord! Indeed, those You commit to the Fire will be ˹completely˺ disgraced! And the wrongdoers will have no helpers.
(Surah Ali'Imran Verse 192)

رَّبَّنَآ إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًۭا يُنَادِى لِلْإِيمَـٰنِ أَنْ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَـَٔامَنَّا ۚ رَبَّنَا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّـَٔاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ
Rabbana innana sami'na munadiyany-yunadi lil-imani an aminu bi Rabbikum fa'aamanna. Rabbana faghfir lana dhunoobana wa kaffir 'anna sayyi'aatina wa tawaffana ma'al Abrar
Our Lord! We have heard the caller to ˹true˺ belief, ˹proclaiming,˺ ‘Believe in your Lord ˹alone˺,’ so we believed. Our Lord! Forgive our sins, absolve us of our misdeeds, and join us with the virtuous when we die.
(Surah Ali'Imran Verse 193)

أَنْتَ وَلِيُّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا ۖ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْغَافِرِينَ وَاكْتُبْ لَنَا فِي هَٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ إِنَّا هُدْنَا إِلَيْكَ
Anta waliyyuna faghfirlana warhamna wa anta khayrulghafireen. Waktub lana fee hazihiddunya hasanatan wafilakhirati inna hudna ilayk
(O my Lord) You are our Protector, so forgive us and have mercy upon us; and You are the best of forgivers. And ordain for us good in this world, and in the Hereafter. Certainly we have turned unto You.
(Surah Al-A'raf Verse 155-156)

وَالَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا اصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا
Wallazeena yaqooloona rabbanasrif anna azaba jahannama inna azabaha kana gharama
And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering
(surah Al-Furqan Verse 65)
-
رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَنْ يَحْضُرُونِ
Rabbi a’oozu bika min hamazaatish Shayaateen Wa a’oozu bika Rabbi an-yahduroon
“My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils, And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they be present with me.”
(Surah Al-Muʾminūn Verse 97-98)

رَبِّ فَلَا تَجْعَلْنِي فِي الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
Rabbi fala taj'alnee filqawmiddalimeen
My Lord, then do not place me among the wrongdoing people."
(Surah Al-Muʾminūn Verse 94)
-
رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ
Rabbanaghfirli wali walidayya walil mumineena yawma yaqoomulhisab
Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established.
(Surah Ibrahim Verse 41)

رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةًۭ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا رَبَّنَآ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
Rabbana la taj'alna fitnatan lillazeena kafaroo waghfir lana rabbana innaka anta alazeezulhakeem
Our Lord! Do not subject us to the persecution of the disbelievers. Forgive us, our Lord! You ˹alone˺ are truly the Almighty, All-Wise.”
(Surah Al-Mumtahanah Verse 5)

رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ رَحْمَةً وَعِلْمًا. فَاغْفِرْ لِلَّذِينَ تَابُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا سَبِيلَكَ وَقِهِمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ
Rabbana wasita kulla shay’irrahmatawwa ilma, faghfir lillazina tabu wattabau sabilaka waqihim azabaljahim.
Our Lord, You have encompassed all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who have repented and followed Your way and protect them from the punishment of Hellfire.
(Surah Ghafir Verse 7)

رَبَّنَا وَأَدْخِلْهُمْ جَنَّـٰتِ عَدْنٍ ٱلَّتِى وَعَدتَّهُمْ وَمَن صَلَحَ مِنْ ءَابَآئِهِمْ وَأَزْوَٰجِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٨ وَقِهِمُ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ۚ وَمَن تَقِ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ فَقَدْ رَحِمْتَهُۥ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
Rabbanaa wa adkhilhum Jannaati 'adnil latee wa'attahum wa man salaha min aabaaa'ihim wa azwaajihim wa zurriyyaatihim; innaka Antal 'Azeezul Hakeem Wa qihimus saiyi-aat; wa man taqis saiyi-aati Yawma'izin faqad rahimtah; wa zaalika huwal fawzul 'adheem
Our Lord! Admit them into the Gardens of Eternity which You have promised them, along with the righteous among their parents, spouses, and descendants. You ˹alone˺ are truly the Almighty, All-Wise. And protect them from ˹the consequences of their˺ evil deeds. For whoever You protect from the evil of their deeds on that Day will have been shown Your mercy. That is ˹truly˺ the ultimate triumph.”
(Surah Ghafir Verse 8-9)

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَـٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ
Subhanallazi Sakhakhara lana haza wama kunna, lahoo muqrineen, wa inna ila Rabbina Lamunqalibun
"Glory to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts).And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return!"
(Surah Az-Zukhruf Verse 13-14)

وَقَالَ رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَدْخِلْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِي عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ
waqala rabbi awzi'nee an ashkura ni'matakallatee an'amta Aalayya wa Aala walidayya wa an Amala salihan tardhahu wa adkhilnee birahmatika fee 'ibadikaassaliheen
"My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants."
(Surah An-Naml Verse 19)

قَالَ رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِىٓ أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَىَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَٰلِدَىَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَـٰلِحًۭا تَرْضَىٰهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِى فِى ذُرِّيَّتِىٓ ۖ إِنِّى تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّى مِنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
Qala rabbi auzi'ni an ashkura ni'matakallati an'amta alayya wa ala walidayya wa an a'mala salihan tardhahu wa aslihli fee zurriyati inni tubtu ilayka wa inni minal muslimin
“My Lord! Inspire me to ˹always˺ be thankful for Your favours which You blessed me and my parents with, and to do good deeds that please You. And instil righteousness in my offspring. I truly repent to You, and I truly submit ˹to Your Will˺.”
(Surah Al-Ahqaf Verse 15)

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَغَفَرَ لَهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
Qala rabbi innee zalamtu nafsee faghfir lee faghafara lahu innahu huwal ghafoorurraheem
He pleaded, “My Lord! I have definitely wronged my soul, so forgive me.” So He forgave him, ˹for˺ He is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
(Surah Al-Qasas Verse 16)

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَىَّ فَلَنْ أَكُونَ ظَهِيرًۭا لِّلْمُجْرِمِينَ
Qala rabbi bima an'amta alayya falan akoona dhaheeran lilmujrimeen
Moses pledged, “My Lord! For all Your favours upon me, I will never side with the wicked.”
(Surah Al-Qasas Verse 17)

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱشْرَحْ لِى صَدْرِى وَيَسِّرْ لِىٓ أَمْرِى وَٱحْلُلْ عُقْدَةًۭ مِّن لِّسَانِى يَفْقَهُوا۟ قَوْلِى
Qala Rabbish Rahli Sadri Wa Yassirli Amri Wah Lul UqdatamMillisaani, Yaf Kahu Qawli
Moses prayed, “My Lord! Uplift my heart for me, and make my task easy, and remove the impediment from my tongue so people may understand my speech,
(Surah Taha Verse 25-28)
